Halloween

Ryan and I enjoyed sitting out by our new fire pit and handing out candy. Our first visitors were our next door neighbors and their three girls.

Ryan and I were both commenting that, as single peoople, we never really hung out outside to give out candy. In my case, Halloween usually consisted of: watching some TV program; hearing the door bell ring; running to the door with the candy; sitting back down on the couch; repeat 30 times. In Ryan's case, he didn't want to come off as some creepy single guy trying to spend time with kids in the neighborhood. Regardless, this is the second year that we've sat outside together to hand out candy. It makes for a nice neighborhood activity, and is a fun way to spend time together. (Tonight we even roasted some marshmellows and made some s'mores! Nothing like adding a little more sugar to an already sugar-laden holiday!)
