We had a new kind of bird show up at our bird feeder last week that we had never seen before. We were struck by its brillieant red head. Unlike other woodpeckers we've seen that have a red or an orange plume, this bird's entire head was a bright red. I did a search on the web to try to find out what kind of bird it was, only to find out that its name is rather obvious; it's a Red-headed Woodpecker.
